Oubliette, this looks like either notes Sour Grapes personally made or that someone gave him. Not necessarily a WTS outline. That's likely the reason for the typos.
And yes, it is crazy but what do you expect.

BOOM
I think that any organization that doesn't take reasonable steps to protect kids should answer for it. Hopefully this will be a follow-up to the Dateline report several years ago. Not much has really changed.
earlier in the week someone posted the potential value of the jw website based on visits and if they used advertisements.
many stated they would never do that but i propose they could.. besides their real estate profit making business model, they have the conventions as cash generating machines.
they give directions to their members to which hotels/motels to use.
Wouldn't paid ads put their "not-for-profit" status in jeopardy? Or maybe they don't care anymore? Certainly one of the worst mistakes from a financial standpoint in their history was moving to a voluntary contribution arrangement for their literature. And that was only to avoid having to deal with sales tax.
The "contributing" for a subscription to JW tv is an interesting idea. Of course, I also wouldn't be shocked if they went into a full on tithing situation in a few years.

If I were them, I would have made this move a long time ago. It's funny, when I was a kid, the "quick builds" were just starting and it was almost like an Amish barn raising. The transformation to a corporately driven, branded product is almost complete.
i just want the governing body to know how "happified" i am today.
keep sending those branch letters to the congregation(s) about sending your donations in.
not only did you humiliate the rank and file with your tony morris tight pants talk but now you are begging the same people you humiliated for money.
I would love to see their books. They made a ton of money from the sale of Brooklyn property plus all the downsizing in recent years. I would be shocked it they aren't loaded. But, their behavior makes it seem otherwise. I believe they want the rank and file to believe they are barely scrapping by so that they can guilt people into contributions. However, I also believe that they have plenty of cash to support them in the short term (5-10 years)

Let's hope ABC does a huge story on this one!
a close family member just informed me what happened during their last c.o.
visit.
this occurred 3 months ago.
my 2 cents is to agree with sir & morpheus. There may have been a pattern of being lenient on JC cases and something set the CO off. Sometimes these things are for reasons that most of us would agree with (ie bad elders who are out of control) but the indecisive talk tells me that they were showing too much "mercy".
I really don't think it's cash as a few have mentioned that would have said they were disobedient, not indecisive.
Any additional info? It's always interesting when entire BOEs get removed.
i found out that my husband has not only gone to the elders, but has been going to members of my family about me over a period of a few years.
this piece of news is just so depressing.
i've been wondering how my family knew i didn't go and thats why so many of them have becoming more and more distant.
Cognac,
I agree with Min. I know my wife wants to tell the elders and my family but also has seen enough to know that that can go horribly wrong and make things worse. lShe wants me told her what would happen to me so we've come to an understanding.
I understand your sense of betryal but it really sounds like he was trying to "save" you. It's tough all around. The cult makes them believe that the only way you won't die a horrible death at the Big A is to be a true believing JW. They don't understand boundaries because they are in a cult.
Of course, all this adds additional stress and if you end up df'ed or da'ed, then both of you will have a decision. It chills me to realize that this religion continues to break up families. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this.
just wondering if any one has heard from ones still asleep, what their feedback has been and what comments have been made by the rank and file??.

Lots of jokes afterwards. My wife thought the remarks about if you are not a MS by 23 than something is wrong with you was mean spirited and not right. She also said that she thought most of the Morris remarks were his own opinion and he could have spoken about something encouraging instead of using the opportunity to put down people's clothes. In standing around with other women in her age group and younger (all of whom workout and love wearing yoga pants), they all thought it was stupid and they were going to continue wearing what they wear.
On the downside, one of my wife's friends who suffers from depression felt awful afterwards and both my wife & I had to basically talk her off the ledge. Really sad that a meeting that was supposed to encourage became a trigger for a depressive episode.
Tony you are a douche

skin-tight pants are a no-no in public, church leader says,.
Awesome publicity. I know it was the topic of many jokes after the meeting last Sat.
